Welcome back to our blog. We have a few exciting updates for you this week, so let’s get started!
Firstly, lets discuss our photoshoot over the weekend. As predicted we were down to wire working on the dresses for the shoot. A dress was even made on set that day and still had time to get shot by the photographer! We didn’t end up creating all the dresses we needed in time, as we were aiming for 10+ and ended up with half that. But we still had an amazing shoot and will be creating the dresses for the Patchwork Show come June. We will still offer the the dresses for sale on our website and etsy shop, so you will still have a chance to shop the collection even if you can’t make it out to the Patchwork Show. Since we believe in this collection so much, we will continue to play with prints, colors, and stylelines to keep everything fresh and new. You will definitely see more of these dresses from us very soon!
The day of the shoot will be something to remember, it was a sunny day in SoCal but my crew was wonderful to bare with the heat of this outdoor shoot. The photos came out great, and the location was beautiful. I can’t wait to show everyone the final outcome as the photographer is working hard on editing the photos from the shoot so they can be live and on the website quickly. We will continue to post preview photos on our social media accounts until we are ready for launch! So let me take a moment to give a huge shout out to my full crew that helped create the amazing looks for the day: Stylist Lindsay, make up artist: Angel Tenshi, Models: Audrey, Vasilla, Bambie, and lastly, our photographer: Cicero. This shoot wouldn’t have even happened without their help, so they are the best team I could have asked for.
More exciting news this week is that we were approved to show in a huge runway show for New York Fashion week come September! This show will allow us to show up to 30 looks! So we are able to create a true full collection for this years NYFW. We are so overjoyed that this show accepted us as the screening process was rigorous. We had to explain our target market, our brand history, our color scheme, the types of fabrics we use and a little background about ourselves. (Whew!) We definitely had our work cut out for us, but we answered each question to the best of our ability and was able to impress the committee enough to have our collection at their show! Now that we know we will be showing in such a huge show, we are trying to figure out what we want to show on the runway! Ready to wear separates, and lingerie of course, but perhaps we will also show swimwear or perhaps athleisure, but we could also do evening wear, or bridal, or all of the above! Then we also have to design our finale piece as well! It is so exciting to have so many options to create a full and well thought out collection. We will be showing our collection on September 8th, and even though that is a little over four months away, we have so so so much work to do, all the while creating the mini collections for the upcoming fashion shows, trade shows and photoshoots! We are trying to figure out how we are going to fit everything in this year!
We are so very excited at the possibilities this year will bring and can’t wait to start searching for inspiration for our Spring/Summer 2019 New York Fashion Week Collection. (It’s still so surreal to say!)
That’s all for this week!
Stay Cute & Stay Unique!
