With COVID-19 cancelling summer plans in 2020, the swimwear market saw a 22% decrease, however as more people are being vaccinated and travel restrictions are lifted, we’re seeing a new rise in swimwear sales, as well as fresh new trends to take us into this summer. Even better, here at L. Royalty clothing we have our own swimwear collection coming soon, so be sure to check back on our website for the new releases!
Why settle for a solid-colored swimsuit when you can have one with a fun, bold print? This yellow bikini from Ada Swim Company features over 40 motifs from the fantastical oil paintings of Ruth Spear. We also love the versatility of this top, allowing it to be a bathing suit, sports bra, or crop top. This second beige bikini from La Gotta Swimwear features a unique beetle pattern. Best of all, both these brands are working towards better sustainability practices, with Ada Swim offering bikinis made from scrap fabric and La Gotta working to reduce the water consumption involved in the production of their swimwear by more than 8 liters per bikini produced.
One-shoulder bathing suit tops and asymmetrical silhouettes are everywhere this year, and for good reason. They’re a great way to spice up an otherwise plain bikini. This bright teal set from Girlfriend Collective is made with recycled fishing nets, and Jade Swim works with 100% regenerated nylon, as well as entirely recycled packaging for all their orders.
Animal prints have been a huge trend recently, and that doesn’t stop with swimsuits! The leopard-print bikini is from Good American, the denim company famously founded by Khloe Kardashian, which released its first swimwear collection this year. This cow-print suit is from Kitty & Vibe, a brand famous for their inclusive sizing, which runs from A-G cup in tops and XS-3XL in bottoms. It also has the unique formula of two different options for sizing, ensuring that if you have a smaller bottom your suit isn’t sagging, and that if you have a larger one it offers adequate coverage.
One-piece bathing suits are just as popular as ever, especially any featuring a high-cut leg or exciting patterns. We love both of these from Frankie’s Bikinis collaboration with tennis legend Naomi Osaka, which features a wide variety of one-piece and bikini styles ready for summer activities or just lounging around the pool.
Sarongs are making a comeback as an easy-to-wear coverup to help your bathing suit transition from swimming to lounging around all summer long. We love this sheer powder blue syle from La Gotta as well as this leopard print look from Good American.
